//-->INTRODUCTIONThis document provides lists of Chariot era armies. They are best played against eachother, though the points costs are consistent with all the armies in the main book, soyou can intermingle them if you wish.My thanks to Olaf Behrens, Jim Clarke and Jean-Baptiste Folley for their assistancewith proof reading- this was a truly multinational effort!CREATING ARMIESARMY SIZEA 2,800 point army created from these lists will be the same approximate size as a2,000 point army created from a period supplement. On the common 6 x 4 foot tablesize, armies of 2,400 points will give plenty of room for flanking manoeuvres.GENERALSAll armies should have a general, though this is not compulsory unless the army listspecifies otherwise. This can be either a general character as listed, or a senior officer, who can be upgraded to make use of theArmy Generalspecial rule for +50 points.UNIT LEADERSUnless the list specifies otherwise, any formed unit may have a leader, standard bearerand musician at +5 points each. HoweverLight Infantryunits that choose to skirmishin an engagement may not make use of their standard bearer or musician for theduration, should they have them. Skirmish units may only have a leader.SPECIAL RULESAny special rule applying to the troops is written in italics, e.g. Stubborn.ALLIES AND MERCENARIESAny troops listed as “Allies and Mercenaries” must obey theAllies and Mercenaries(Unreliable) special rule, unless the individual list states otherwise.Where an army is stated to be able to take allies from another list, then the alliedcontingent can include characters from that other list, including an army general ifdesired. That general has no effect on troops from the main “host” list.CHARACTERS MOUNTED ON MODELSWhen a character is mounted on a chariot or an elephant, both models will shoot andfight. For example an Egyptian Pharaoh mounted in a light chariot will have fourshots (Pharaoh and chariot warrior, both firing twice) and four attacks (two fromPharaoh and two from the chariot warrior).A character so mounted benefits from the armour save of the model he is mounted on,if better than his own.1CONTENTS1Sumerian2Old Kingdom Egyptian3Elam4Lybian5Nubian6Harappan Indian7Arab Nomad8Early Babylonian9Shang Chinese10Early Eastern Tribes11Hittite12New Kingdom Egyptian13Minoan & Early Mycenean14Aryan Indian15Hyksos16Israelite17Syrian and Caananite18Trojan War19Assyrian20Sea Peoples21Cimmerian and Scythian22Later Babylonian23Kushite Egyptian21. OLD KINGDOM EGYPTIAN2500 BC to 1600 BCThe army of Egypt from the early dynasties until the widespread use of chariots, copied from the Hyksoswho conquered northern Egypt in about 1800 BC and were later ejected. The army is a contemporary ofSumer, but there was no interaction in a military sense at least.ARMY COMPOSITIONCharacters:up to 25%Infantry:At least 25%Allies & Mercenaries:up to 25%CHARACTERS-0-1 GENERALM WS BS S T W IA Ld PtsPharaoh4 554 4 3 6 2 10 262General/Vizier 4 554 3 3 6 2 9158Equipment: Hand weapon, light armour, bow, javelins and shield.Special rule:Army GeneralCHARACTERS-SENIOR OFFICERSM WS BS S T W IA Ld PtsBrigade4 444 3 2 5 2 890CommanderStandard4 433 4 2 5 2 8106BearerEquipment: Brigade Commanders have hand weapon, light armour, bow, javelins and shield.Standard Bearer has hand weapon, light armour and shield.Special rule: Standard Bearer:Army Standard Bearer.INFANTRYLineInfantryArchers4 333 3 1 3 1 79Javelinmen 4 333 3 1 3 1 710Equipment: Line infantry have hand weapon, throwing spear and shield.Archers have hand weapon and short bow.Javelinmen have hand weapon, javelins and shieldOption: Line Infantry: up to one unit in three may exchange throwing spear and shield for 2 handed mace-axe (free).Archers: may exchange short bow for bow (+1 point).Special rule: Javelinmen:Light Infantry.5M WS BS S4 333T3W I1 3A1Ld Pts711
